Director, RE- Deal Origination/Sourcing

The Director, Real Estate Investments role covers a broad range of duties and responsibilities. The candidate’s primary role will be deal sourcing. The candidate will report to a Director who is the Head of Investments and to the Head of the Business, and the main responsibilities will include the following:

-Sourcing real estate opportunities, including core and opportunistic.
-Focusing on off-market deals and/or limitedly marketed opportunities to increase probability of success
-Providing updates on the transaction market condition and advising on opportunities and acquisition strategies
-Conducting preliminary analysis of investment opportunities and negotiation with vendors
-Communicating investment strategies and theses with the Real Estate team in Japan, with managers of the Funds outside of Japan and with business partners in compliance, legal and risk
-Managing transactions through the entire process to and including the internal approval process

-Real estate acquisition and/or brokerage experience (15 years or more), and/or business development, research experience at any of real estate companies, developers, asset management companies, consulting firms, banks, investment banks, trust banks, securities firms and brokerage companies.
-Real estate related licenses (brokerage, appraisal, real estate consulting or alike) and securities sales representative licenses highly preferred
-Hard skills: all Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and the ability to develop, understand and manipulate cash flow models
-Soft skills: networking, communication and negotiation
-Communication: Japanese and English (business level)
-College or university educated
