Job Description

Oversee the development and execution of external and internal communications strategies and plans that protect and enhance the corporate reputation and deliver measurable impact, while collaborating with corporate branding and regional communications colleagues to develop integrated multi-channel communications strategies that maximize company news and other corporate messages.

Cultivate media exposure opportunities for executives to establish thought leadership by creating compelling narratives that strengthen the company's presence with a variety of audiences.
Lead financial communications programs in the media by working closely with the Investor Relations team and communicating corporate messaging via compelling presentations for quarterly earnings briefings.
Lead risk and issues management communications to mitigate reputational risks while managing internal and external audience expectations.
Drive organizational communications, leveraging strategic communications planning and coordinating with other corporate functions to drive change management and transformation narratives.
Develop, update, and communicate policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure proper communication governance across the organization and enhance the corporate communications function’s organizational capability.
Serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO and Corporate Officers and support their efforts to become effective communicators driving corporate culture and transformation into a truly global company.
Build and maintain strong relationships with leaders and key internal stakeholders in the corporate functions, collaborating closely to understand their communications needs and objectives while fostering strong cross-functional partnerships within the organization.
Develop an internal communications strategy and other key corporate messages, leveraging storytelling opportunities that help build a positive, strong corporate culture.
Ensure the timely cascade of internal announcements and proper execution of town halls and other internal events.
Leverage media exposure and corporate stories on LinkedIn to enhance corporate presence and outreach.

Requirements

Japanese native and English fluency (written and verbal).

Academic Background:
 University degree or equivalent in business, communications or journalism; master’s degree a plus

Communications Background:
 Minimum 15 years’ experience working mainly in external communication, including executive
communications, media and public relations, financial communications (investor relations) and
reputation building for a multinational company
 Extensive knowledge of and experience in the pharmaceutical industry required
 Substantial experience in internal communications, including employee engagement and reputation
building required
 Experience managing and handling PR agencies, suppliers and partners required
 Experience working at the headquarters of a multinational company considered a plus
