Job Description

This company is investing heavily to expand Government Affiars for both Central Government and Regional Government engagement to accelerate commercialization of innovative pipelines in all therapeutic areas.

Either leads a team focused on developing policies and programs for one area of regulatory
interactions or acts as an expert contributor to such a team. Acts as a senior resource in the area of
Government Affairs for a geography or functional area. May support or lead regional or international
project teams working on key initiatives tied to regulation.

Accountabilities
• Interacts with regulatory bodies and government officials to influence decisions in a manor favourable to The Company and allows The Company to respond proactively to anticipated changes
• Owns key relationships with officials and regulators and ensures these are properly maintained and strengthened
• Carries out local, national initiatives to improve Government Relations, either individually or at the head of a team
• May participate in global Government Relations projects, in own area of expertise
• Manages regulatory submissions for a portfolio of products and processes, ensuring all written and verbal submissions are properly prepared to maximise the likelihood of success
• Ensures failed submissions are properly analysed by the colleagues involved and that the reasons for failure are uncovered and shared throughout the team
• Develops responses to new legislative initiatives and emerging issues that could impact The Company
• Ensures the Brand strategies, managed market strategies and other functional strategies incorporate developments in the legislative and regulatory environment
• Acts as an expert resource for Brand leaders and other managers, helping them understand the impact of legislative and regulatory changes on their areas of focus
• Builds networks with other colleagues within Government Relations functions to share best practices, key contacts, intellectual capital and emerging issues
• Serves as an internal thought leader on one or more specific area(s) of legislation or regulation
• May performance manage a team of Government Relations professionals, setting targets and objectives and ensuring they successfully perform against them
• Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Requirements

Essential
• Diet members & government engagement and policy advocacy in healthcare for 5 years or more
• Bachelor's degree
• Capability of stakeholder engagement strategy development
• Capability of relationship building with policy stakeholder
• Knowledge in policy development process
• Knowledge in healthcare policy
• Profound understand of the legislative and regulatory environment
• Team working spirit and skill
• Fluency in Japanese both verbal and written. Good at English reading and writing

Desirable
• Engagement with healthcare policy key opinion leaders
• Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Health, Master of Public Policy, Medical Doctor, Pharmacist
• Fluency in English speaking
