Job Description

The Head of Digital Transformation will be responsible for developing and executing the digital strategy in Japan. Working closely with cross-functional commercial and medical teams, the successful candidate will drive the implementation of new technologies and digital tools aligned with omnichannel goals, business priorities, and market insights. This role requires a deep understanding of digitalization, data strategy, and change management to foster a data-driven decision-making environment. The Head of Digital Transformation will also play a crucial role in raising the standards of digital strategy and execution while ensuring alignment with regional and global processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate the digital roadmap for Japan and oversee the deployment of new technology and digital tools across all business units.
• Lead the preparation and execution of the data strategy, enabling the efficient and effective implementation of the digital strategy.
• Ensure proper funding of the digital transformation roadmap through strategic partnerships with IT, Strategic Ops, and Business teams.
• Cultivate a data-driven decision-making environment and drive digitalization and change management initiatives among employees.
• Implement the digital transformation competency framework and provide guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Maximize the value obtained from the CRM system and identify resources needed for its improvement.
• Drive change and raise the standards of digital strategy and execution for superior customer execution.
• Collaborate with the Go to Market team to design the customer experience journey, including segmentation, targeting, and tracking of key performance indicators.
• Serve as a representative of the Japan digital transformation team, reporting progress of the digital strategy and receiving feedback from regional and global management teams.
• Drive local digital governance, lead the digital steering committee, and ensure alignment with regional and global processes.
• Develop and maintain forecasts on the adoption of global technology infrastructure in Japan.
• Lead and manage a team of more than three positions.


• Proven track record of successfully leading digital transformation programs across diverse and complex stakeholders.
• Experience in digital marketing, leading initiatives in new digital channels and platforms.
• Ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams.
• Strong prioritization and resource management skills.
• Proficiency in facilitating strategic and operational project requirements.
• Expertise with digital tools, data analysis, and omni-channel platforms.
• In-depth knowledge and deployment experience in Commercial Excellence, including SFE, CRM, and IQVIA.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence senior leaders, including above-country leadership teams.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on omni-channel strategies.

Additional Information

Native-level Japanese language skills are required for this role.
Fluency in English is also required.
